Service Description: NOTE: this dataset is in beta. It is for demonstration purposes only and is currently experimental for future work. Additionally, descriptive information on this product is currently incomplete and not properly accredited. Do not share widely.
Dates of Images:
Post-Event: 11/8/24-11/13/24
Date of Next Image:
None Planned for this eruption.
Summary:This dataset shows volcanic plume trajectory to display the dispersion of a volcanic ash cloud with trajectory calculations from the November 8th-13 eruption in Indonesia (Laki-Laki).
More information on this eruption and NASA Earth Observatory's work therein can be found
here.
Suggested Use:
The plumes are encoded by color where dark indicates a lower elevation (noted in the legend in meters) and lighter (yellow) indicates higher elevation. The data is temporally enabled for easier viewing - use the time slider to view different extents as the plume continues westward.
This data is currently only intended for experimental use.
