Service Description: Date of Image:
9/16/20
Date of Next Image:
None expected
Summary:
Water extent map produced using Copernicus Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). Potential flooding in the product is determined by comparing images before (10/12/2018) and after (4/22/2019) the flooding occurred.
Suggested Use:
Red pixels are anomalous water, or potentially flooded areas. These flooded areas are normally dry land. This product is best used with a layer or background map with known water that is prevalent throughout the year to determine where the flooding is occurring.
Satellite/Sensor:
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) on European Space Agency's (ESA) Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite
Resolution: ~10 m
