Service Description: Purpose/Summary: The visible-wavelength true color RGB digital camera image was taken by astronauts on board the International Space Station on February 2nd, 2019 showing the flood damage that occured as a result of a dam failure on January 25th near Brumadinho, Brazil. This image was manually georeferenced by members of the Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit at NASA Johnson Space Center. Suggested Use: This image provides regional context, and may be useful for visualization of the ongoing event. Higher spatial resolution images may be suitable for spatial analysis to support decision making or research applications.
